Introducing a breathtakingly inventive futuristic suspense novel about one woman who rebels against everything she is told to believe.

Emma wakes in a hospital, with no memory of what came before. Her husband, Declan, a powerful, seductive man, provides her with new memories, but her dreams contradict his stories, showing her a past life she can’t believe possible: memories of war, of a camp where girls are trained to be wives, of love for another man. Something inside her tells her not to speak of this, but she does not know why. She only knows she is at war with herself.

Suppressing those dreams during daylight hours, Emma lets Declan mold her into a happily married woman and begins to fall in love with him. But the day Noah stands before her, the line between her reality and dreams shatters.

In a future where women are a rare commodity, Emma fights for freedom but is held captive by the love of two men—one her husband, the other her worst enemy. If only she could remember which is which. . . .

This book is the very first New Adult book I have ever read, and it was just so…MIND BLOWING!

M.D. Waters, has done an EXCELLENT job at keeping me hooked ’till the end.

I  remember when I first received my copy and read the synopsis, I was really intrigued. I wanted to stop whatever I was doing and start right away. That’s how good it sounded.

Eventually, when I did, I made a HUGE mistake (not) by starting this book the day before a final exam. Yep…and let’s just say that I spent the rest of my night with my nose buried into this book instead of studying…oops.

This book is about a female protagonist Emma, who wakes up at a hospital remembering nothing. A memory loss, caused by a terrible accident, cannot be restored, instead new ones can be created. While her husband explains to her about her life before the accident, he and doctor are helping her learn everything from the beginning.

However, even with the new memories she creates after the accident, “nightmares” start haunting her, showing her flashbacks of the past of her life, contradicting with whatever her husband had told her. Every time she had these nightmares, she doubted whether her husband had been telling the truth, or her dreams have been made up. The only way to find out, is by using her dreams to seek out answers, little by little, to find the truth.

Since the beginning, until the end, this book had me guessing the entire time.  Every time what I thought was a valid guess as to what may happen next, I was always wrong. I was invested into this book so much, that I couldn’t put it down.

I really loved the main protagonist, Emma. Although in the beginning she was once an innocent, clueless person, she eventually started showing a lot of character development. Through out the book, I literally felt like I was Emma, finding ways to fit the pieces to this complex jigsaw puzzle. Her determination shone so bright, that no matter what got in her way, backing out was not on her checklist.

I dived into this book with no expectations, but the way the plot developed as it progressed, had me blown away with all of the unseen dark secrets that was hidden behind it.

I recommend that you go to your local bookstore, or online, and purchase this book, Archetype, right away! This is a book written by an author with such talent, you wouldn’t want to miss out on!
